The Story of Journeigh’s Advantageous Chromosome

Founded in 2023

Journeigh’s Foundation is a transformative family movement that started in 2020 upon Journeigh’s newborn arrival. As Journeigh approached her toddler years, I started to notice different developmental characteristics that were not aligned with Trisomy 21. Each day I would study her interactions socially, physically, medically and developmentally then started to compile a long list of questions, as those questions were gathered, I started to communicate with other parents for comparisons, which lead me to sleepless nights to do as much research as I possibly could until I could not find more answers. My next steps were leading me into connecting with the medical team to get more of a baseline of exactly where Journeigh was. This prompted a psychologist evaluation a year later after numerous visits to the Primary Care doctors.  The final medical results, classified Journeigh as being Autistic in addition to her preexisting condition of Down Syndrome.  As I absorbed the overwhelming results of the Dual Diagnosis the medical staff simply gave me a telephone with a national website that did not have reputable reviews and said if I had any questions, please give them a call. Internally, I was beside myself looking for a resource to lean on or to help guide my family through what was to come.  This was the evolution of Journeigh's Foundation. Embracing a strategy of Empowerment, Advocacy, and Support for families from the ground up, facilitating awareness and research for changes that will make a real impact. We engage with advocates from all backgrounds and walks of life. Get in touch to learn more about our mission and join our cause today.

About the Founder

 Natalie Morris

California native moved to New York in 1998 to attend The Mandl School of Allied Health. In 2001 after relocating to Delaware, I decided to attend Delaware Technical Community College that transitioned me to further my education in Human Resources at Wilmington University. As I started to build my education and career path this led me to a career opportunity in Bethany Beach, Delaware and pursue a fulltime career in Dental Management of 20 years.  The motivation and awareness of families struggling within the overall dental/medical field, brought Journeigh's Foundation to fruition as I experience the many challenges firsthand on both ends as a provider and as a parent.
